Principal's Corner

New School Year is Off to a Great Start!

School is in full swing at Anadarko High School and we are off to a great start! We are going through some new and exciting changes here at the high school including my return to the school as the principal. I knew I wanted to return to Anadarko High School because I knew we had an exceptional staff and an awesome student body. We have talented teachers and counselors, dedicated secretaries, and a hard working custodial and cafeteria staff; all of whom care about our students and their futures.

We are very fortunate to be able to offer an outstanding academic curriculum here at Anadarko High School that has something for everyone and ensures that our students are prepared for the future. Besides our core classes we also offer numerous honors and advanced classes to challenge our students and prepare them for college or the workforce including AP English, Chemistry, Human Anatomy, Zoology, Choir, AP Art, Trigonometry, Calculus, Economics, Psychology, Acting, etc. We also offer concurrent enrollment with our college partners that allow our students to earn college credit while still in high school. Students can earn college credit in numerous subjects including English, math, and social sciences.

Anadarko High School also has a partnership with Caddo Kiowa Technology Center in Ft. Cobb that allows our students to earn numerous vocational certifications and prepare them for a trade or career in a variety of fields. This is not the Career Tech of old; today students are able to complete programs in pre-engineering, biomedical sciences, health careers, education, welding, construction, cosmetology,  and a variety of automotive programs.

Our extra-curricular and athletic activities are well underway. Football, softball, cross country, and cheer are all getting started with their seasons with a ton of outstanding student athletes competing for the Anadarko Warriors. The band has been practicing all summer getting ready for the marching season, and the academic team and our newly started speech and debate teams are busy practicing and getting ready for their upcoming competitions. We also offer a host of other organizations for students to participate in including Future Farmers of America, Family Career and Community Leaders of America, Student Council, Technology Students of America, National Honor Society, and Yearbook. There are also numerous clubs for students to join that cover just about every interest imaginable. In essence there is something for every student to be a part of at Anadarko High School.

Our goal at Anadarko High School is to prepare our students for college or the workforce by providing them with a challenging curriculum that teaches them to think critically. With the classes that we offer, the extra-curricular activities that are available, and our outstanding staff and students we can accomplish that goal. I would like to encourage every student to explore and find a program that fits their goals and personality. Also, every student should be able to find something to belong to whether it is a club, athletics, or some other competitive team.  I would like to encourage every student to find something to help enhance their high school career.

I am looking forward to an exciting and fulfilling year, and I am proud to be an Anadarko Warrior!
